We invite you to take a course and join France’s number one gliding club.

The ASSOCIATION AERONAUTIQUE VERDON ALPILLES (AAVA) ranks first in France, second in Europe and third in the world for gliding activity.

AAVA – the best place in Europe to learn to fly a glider and simply unrivalled for learning to fly in the mountains:

• unique aerological conditions – the opportunity to combine flying on the plains and in the Alps
• the full range of Schleicher training gliders: ASK21, ASK23
• the longest flying season in Europe
• all types of gliding conditions: thermals, waves, convergence, dynamic flying
• a fleet of modern gliders: Arcus, Duo Discus, Ventus, JS1, ASW28, LS8, LS6, LS4
• four tow planes, a Falke SF25 motor glider
• advanced training programmes following the award of the SPL glider pilot’s licence
• the club operates all year round

In addition to training, the club is renowned for its sporting activities: it hosts French, European and World Championships, as well as stages and finals of the World Cup (SGP) in gliding.

The club is located at the VINON aviation centre – a major hub for aviation activity in the south of France, in the heart of Provence. It falls under the jurisdiction of the VAR department. The Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.

The Vinon airfield brings together 17 associations: aircraft enthusiasts, microlight aviation enthusiasts, gliding enthusiasts, amateur aircraft builders and model aircraft enthusiasts.
