In Central and Northern Europe, obtaining a Sailplane Pilot Licence (SPL) in a single season is already a challenge. Completing it in a compressed period — for example, four consecutive weeks — is nearly impossible for most people. Weather interruptions, weekend-only club operations and limited instructor availability slow progress dramatically.
At Alpine Soaring we offer a different approach.
Training is individual and can take place every flyable day. This intensive format allows motivated students to make rapid, continuous progress that is simply not realistic in most northern or central European clubs. Combined with the excellent soaring conditions of the southern French Alps, it becomes realistically possible to complete a large part — or even the full — SPL programme in a few focused weeks.
Whether you are starting from zero or already hold a PPL or free-flight experience, our structured, daily training maximises every flying day and minimises wasted time.
If you want to stop waiting for the next weekend and actually finish your licence, the Alps offer a clear advantage.
